Today's Excerpt
I think I'm figuring out where I need to go with the stories I'm currently working on. Now to write them!
"You kicking me out?" Jim shifts a little, and Pike can almost see the barn doors swinging open in the dusty wind. He jerks his head sideways, and Jim snickers through his nose as he reaches across, hand a palpable millimeter above Pike's chest, and grasps Pike's wrist. "Then I don't want," he says, tugging Pike's hand over and pressing it to the smooth dip of his breastbone.
Pike feels the boy's steady heartbeat pound against his palm, concedes a sigh and opens his eyes again, to the snowfall-pale light catching in Jim's golden hair and the irresistible sparks in his Earth-blue eyes. "Why?" he asks, as if he isn't pushing his splayed hand up Jim's chest until his longest finger reaches the tender notch of Jim's throat, the others fanned out over sturdy collarbones and resilient skin.
Jim leans pliantly into Pike's touch, hand looped around Pike's wrist in an easy simulation of trust, but his eyes narrow with reassuring skepticism. "Why'd you say I could leave?" His beautiful smile is edged with cruelty as he shifts his thigh alongside Pike's and adds, "When you know I know what you want."

Do want.

This is my favorite sentence. I can't decide if I like more that it involves the suprasternal notch, or that it portrays the paradoxical eager reticence that I love in Pike!fic.
Oh! I just realized this might be the hookerfic. Is it?

And yes, this is the hookerfic. *blushes*

I'm not sure how I feel about "leans pliantly", it strikes me oddly, somehow.

This is one of those pairings that I'm surprised I find so hot, considering I don't usually like unequal power relationships, but you make me see that any inequality probably goes the other way. Can't wait for more!

That's one of the things I like about these two (and about Pike in general -- I like writing him with an indulgent streak tucked under the no-nonsense attitude).
