"I am going away... to an unknown country where I shall have no past and no name..." Gaila's rebirth. I am so impressed with this one I can't even say. Some of you have seen my rants about the Enterprise canon on Orion women, and the people who think it should be mandatory. I chose to ignore it;possibly_thrice took it and worked it, and one popular fanonical background for Gaila, into a truly alien-feeling, actually science-fictional, yet resonantly recognizeable piece of narrative art.
