Thank you for the link! Wow, Newsweek! I've seen mentions of slash all over TV lately (on most of my favorite shows) but this article is serious and you can't get much more mainstream than Newsweek. How cool would it be if girls start slashing K/S from the new film? Too cool.

You're more sanguine than I; I'm a little worried about all the kids who'll think they INVENTED K/S based on the new movie. *snerk*

At any rate, you're welcome. :)

That was ... startlingly sympathetic, non-sensational, and sane. ♥Newsweek♥

I was just thinking the same thing. So... not condescending! (Don't read the comments though, ick)

I know! *is astounded*

I was nervous clicking on the link, but that really was a nice article. Haha.

I saw a preview for Star Trek the other day, and as I was watching it the thought suddenly popped into my mind that this movie is bound to inspire a whole new generation of K/S slashers. Good times.

Hooboy. *laugh*

But yeah, the article was refreshingly openminded.

Comments suck, but they *always* suck.

And it's not even a negative article! O_o

Great googli moogli!

Oh my God.

What a difference four decades makes.

We've gone from being The Evil Gurlzz That Ruin Fandom For the Rest of Us (Boys) to respectable old ladies running literary erotica workshops.

Yeah, baby -- new hot young actors as K and S? More fresh K/S fans! (If only they have half the chemistry of Shatner and Nimoy.)

Don't you feel vindicated? :D

Do I!

I remember the fanboy at my college s.f. club who said he wanted to burn K/S fans on a pile of their own zines. (ca. 1982) When I archly said, "So, you've never picked up a PENTHOUSE or HUSTLER and drooled on pictorials of two women getting it on?" he immediately responded with that last bastion of male logic, "THAT'S DIFFERENT!"

10 years later I hosted a party at which a twitchy fanboy acquaintance scrunched his face up and said, "I can't believe you write K/S!" I replied calmly, "The correct term is slash. And I don't write 'slash' - I write good slash." To which half a dozen female partygoers immediately piped up, "She does!" Shut HIM up good!

We've outlived the bastards.
