An FBI agent just called my workplace (a school) for info. I found myself imagining Agent Eppes on the other end of the line, and when he said, "thank you, you've been very helpful" I actually blushed as I said "you're welcome" and hung up.

Then I cracked up laughing at myself.

One day in the 1990s I came home to find a business card from an FBI agent tucked in my door. I called and it turned out the agent was doing a background check on someone who lived in my building.

yeesh. The FBI doing research at schools skeeves me out, man. (but then, they interviewed my daughter without my knowledge when she was 5, and the school just gave her to them, so...)
