Boston-area: MBTA Map Redesign

"The MBTA has a survey up about six new schematic maps," as posted by [livejournal.com profile] r_ness. The options are really interesting, as are the rejected versions.

(I admit, I find the curvy ones cute, but I think the rectilinear designs are more informative at a glance.)

I like the tree one. That should be public art in some of the stations, or something. (Also, the last one on the rejected page is nifty, if distracting.)

I think i voted most firmly for Map 4, in part because it gave at least a vague idea of how close some stations are to each other.

Yah, where the stations are in realspace is important.

I'm not voting in this, but I love artist #1's name: Michael Kvrivishvili. Clearly Georgian. No, not that Georgia! this Georgia, in the Caucasus!
