Muppet Museum Date

So, yesterday WD and I went to see The Jim Henson Exhibit, currently at the National Heritage Museum through June 27th or so. It was really lovely to see all those sketches and the evolution of character concepts, and I could have stayed in the The Dark Crystal room approximately forever. (I'm comparing a red dwarf to a blue supergiant here, but as a creative person myself I saw certain commonalities of patterns of idea development. I've been thinking about how people think, so that was interesting.)

We also swung through the museum, which was Masonically adorable, and where WD was erudite as ever. I love the history of the New England area, and should really get out to see more of it.

Then we headed to the Summer Shack where WD kindly fed me shellfish, and Sal the awesome waiter came by to say hi to us. (I do always wonder what he thinks of me showing up with a couple of different men.) And I did not get into a political argument with the people at the next table! Be proud of WD for restraining me!

I love museums, shellfish, and WD. I should spend more time with all of these.

oh how lovely! I love muppets! I got to see the Henson exhibit in Seattle at the SciFi museum last summer (including some of the original puppets and props from the Dark Crystal) and was absolutely in heaven. Awesome wonderful stuff. He was a true gem. And yay for good food and good company :)

It's full of "The founding fathers were Masons!" info and artifacts, all presented so earnestly that the effect is adorable.
