PS Did the Republicans pay you to say something that stupid and offensive? Except that you do it for free. And then the timing, coinciding with the murder of a Black security guard who was defending DC's Holocaust Museum from a heavily armed anti-Semite, just adds that final fillip. Honestly, sir, do you even understand how much harder you make it for your former congregant, President Obama, when you give his enemies fodder like this? How much harder you make it for nearly everyone? What would Jesus do? I do not think He would blame "them Jews."

You should really remind people that you're the woman who saved baseball, and are thus as American as apple pie. That might shut up your critics.

Well, probably not. I'm sorry you have to watch yourself be vilified in racist, sexist, completely inappropriate ways that are somehow such a major part of our political discourse these days. You're tough and accomplished, I know you can deal, but it must not be fun.

Good luck, and I hope you are confirmed; I think you'll be a fine justice. And anyone who compares you to Harriet Miers can suck it.

When Ms. Stanek posted your names and addresses, I admit I was slightly tempted by the information. I had brief thoughts of writing you postcards (so no worrisomely sealed envelopes would arrive) with as much encouragement and thanks as I could fit on them. You help women in terrible circumstances, whose children have died inside them, who might well otherwise die themselves, and I want to thank you for that.

I decided in the end that this would be invasive, however well I intended it, so I won't do it. I do hope you and your families stay safe and undaunted.

I'll agree with the previous poster; you are incredibly well spoken (or in this case, written) and erudite. You should really put your views out somewhere more public sometimes. Ever think of contributing to the "letters to the editor" section of some of the more well written news papers?

Sign me up with the dumbasses. When I read the complete transcript of the first Wright speech that caused the big media ruckus, my reaction was along the lines of "O Mainstream Media Chattering Classes, if you think that's fire-breathing radical rhetoric, you need to get out more". But apparently he's gone downhill since then, or less interested in censoring himself (addicted to his own notoriety?), or something.

As far as Rev. Wright? I really have begun to wonder if someone on the Republican Party is paying him.

Because he used to make sense and get taken out of context. Now he's just hollering: "LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! HERE'S ANOTHER OFFENSIVE AND STUPID THING!!!"
