Meme of Threes for the Fourth Day

(of the week.) With thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kitanzi. *grin*

Three things I am grateful for:
1. My kind coworker who sent me to the weekly school assembly to listen to Terpsichore sing.
2. The ride I got to work from Tigerlily this morning. In general, being driven to work rocks; in specific, I felt so crappy when I woke up that I don't know if I could have dealt with the T.
3. Dinner with Mr. Red Ted last night. He is so sweet to me.

Three things I want to do this week:
1. Pack and mail the remaining fruitcake (which means my damn boxes need to get here).
2. Write at least 1500 words of prose. 3000 would be nice.
3. Create this year's Winter Holiday Cards so I can get them printed and start addressing and signing them in the first week of December.

Three interesting things I would like to share:
Celebrity Jedi Chefs. Precisely what it says on the label. Delightfully silly. Via [livejournal.com profile] dsudis
Adorably nerdy art for babies. Via [livejournal.com profile] kathrynt
Three Way Chess. From websurfing. I'm still trying to conceptualize how it would be played, so I can write a story about it.

I don't know if you have [livejournal.com profile] seraphimsigrist on your reading list, but he too has a posting about threes today, in this case on the Rule of Three in The Hunting of the Snark. I thought you might like it:

I don't, so I can't tell him I liked his essay, alas. But I can tell you (now that I finally managed to read it.) Thank you. :)

I've seen the three-player chess board before, from an old magazine ad. I think it was developed by Robert Zubrin, who may be the same Robert Zubrin who heads the Mars Society. I thought I wrote an LJ entry about three-player chess, but I can't seem to find it now.

That makes me smile - I'm glad you liked the idea. Your links are great, too. :)
