Moving My Old Webpage Onto My LJ

I've been looking at my defunct webpage, and my two livejournals, and thinking.

Eventually, I had an idea.

So I wrote it down.

I'm thinking of posting the bits of my webpage that I still want to save to this journal, and then stripping down what I actually put up to my resume and a revamp of the Oldest Cities in the World Page (anyone who is offended by the Oldest Cities in the World Page is not someone I want to work for)..

And so.

Basically, I'd love to know what you'd /change/ about the stories now, if indeed you would, but it drives me crazy to have updated versions of fiction-I-have-read.

Ditto the rants, if your opinion has changed.

Bandwidth is not a scarce or limiting resource, giving your location and that of the LiveJournal servers.

I'm not even sure how many LJs I have.

You should HAVE A SITE and UPDATE IT so all the Rubystuff is in one place and easily found! I'm not keen to have to wade through oceans of LJ to find what I'm looking for! I didn't even know there were Rubydrawings.

...Well, you asked.

as far as having two accounts and being unnecessarily luxurious - both paid? If so, maybe, given that your financial situation's probably tight. If not both paid, I'd say no. I do like your writing and your drawing, and I hope you keep them up one way or another, though I certainly understand wanting to make them inaccessible to work.

I've gotten very concerned in my old age that the traces of my existence should not fade away when I do. Saving your stuff to a live journal would provide a means of off-site storage at the very least, and a chronical of your work, showing your progression as a writer and an artist if that's what you'd like.

I'll have to give this a good long thought. Though, I'm with Hyel on their needing to be some sort of site -- I mean, that would be the best way to get to everything. LJ is nice and all, and the memories function is grand, as is the tags... but it's not the same as just having your own site.

Er. Yes, but I'll think about it. And maybe actually end up responding to the poll.

And of course, given how I collect the things, I don't think that having two LJs is any sort of waste.

Just wanted to add an extra-strong "yes" to the author's note bit - I love reading those.

I would love to see a website of yours that was seperate from the "official" site with resume and whatnot. It's easier to get around that way. However, if you think LJ is the way to go, I would suggest using tags and memory links to make it easy for us to find stuff.
