So, My Weekend.

Finally.

[livejournal.com profile] noelfigart came to visit, fabulous in a pink salwar kameez, as did K, [livejournal.com profile] ailsaek's daughter. Every time I look up at the towering K I think of how I used to carry around a spindly seven-year-old girl. No longer!

Friday evening was fairly quiet. Dinner, talk, sleep. My bedroom is the room most attuned to the outdoors, apparently (in other words, it was HOT Friday night. I may need to buy a big fan.)

Saturday was fun.

So, I got up. I did the Slumber Party thing with Wolf and Noel and Tigerlily, lying on the bed and chatting. I made Caramel Spirals (remind me to write down the recipe. They're delicious and easy). I hung out with K and Noel (an aside: Static Shock is a worthwhile TV show), admired and pestered Wolf, talked to [livejournal.com profile] telynor when she called to chat with Tigerlily, and eventually got ready for the party. I wasn't going to wear my swimsuit, but Noel and Tigerlily convinced me, and I *am* glad they did. Yay my new (red)(cute) swimsuit!

Then, partywards we went! Wheee! First, [livejournal.com profile] roozle and [livejournal.com profile] sunspiral and [livejournal.com profile] folzgold and the rest of their clan's Summer Party. I threw myself in the pool, hugged and smooched and flirted with friends I haven't seen in awhile, held several adorable babies....oh, the babies. One cute little round-faced baby girl had reflux all over both my shoulders (since I moved her from the wet one to the dry one, she had to douse that one too) so I had to take off my T-shirt and wash it. I was wearing a leopard-print bra, so I decided to go around the party in my bra. It felt...liberating. Having sunlight on that much of my skin, being complimented by several people who honestly did think I looked cute that way. Whee. :)

Then, I journeyed with [livejournal.com profile] spinrabbit and her family to the second party of the day, a farewell party for two friends of mine, held by another two. I saw people there I haven't seen in years (Myke!) and admired the fabulous ones such as [livejournal.com profile] starkeymonster and delighted in the cooking prowess of the male host and the elfin wonderfulness of the female host and got more than slightly drunk and had a great time.

Speaking of being drunk: surprisingly enough, I found that I am a better navigator when I'm drunk.

Sunday I woke up facedown in the pillow. Yay alcohol.

[livejournal.com profile] noelfigart had had to leave earlier than she'd wanted to, so it was just me and Tigerlily at home, relaxing a bit; I drew a few things, including postcards for the guy who does photos on leaves, a guy who maintains a wonderfully extensive and useful art history resource on the web, and the blueberry folks. Eventually she went to bed and gamers came over. It was a nice restful Sunday (and that was a banal piece of prose).

Saturday was the one day I needed to be well, and I was well, for which I am grateful. Now if I could just be well again...
