My Weekend

On Friday Tigerlily and I earned our dinners. We worked our behinds off, and then when we got to her place we chipped enough of the ice off the porch to make it navigable. Fortunately, Wolf had cooked a magnificent dinner, as ever; [livejournal.com profile] tendyl and [livejournal.com profile] wiseoldfool were over, since soon she will be on the other side of the continent. And so we ate, and hung out, and were content.

Then Tendyl and WOF gave me a ride home.

I really like WOF. I've liked him since I met him. But I aged ten years during that drive, I tell you. He missed a turn, and swerved into *oncoming traffic* in order to recover it. As in, driving straight at another car head-on. Half my life flashed before my eyes in those headlights. WOF protested that we had all of "two and a half feet" of clearance. I'm surprised I didn't ruin my underwear.

Tendyl wanted to see what I'd write about it, after my gasping reaction. If I'd written about it Friday night it'd've been three times as long and *much* more profane.

After that, I staggered into the apartment, clutched WD, and once the adrenalin rush had worn off, went to sleep.

I didn't do much Saturday. I read through art books for ideas, cooked several slow-cooked dishes, tracked a very important plane flight using the Internet, lolled about with WD, and watched The Talented Mr. Ripley with him. I liked the movie; it was very well-acted, lushly filmed, and quite chilling. And full of homosexual subtext, mmm, yummy subtext.

Oh, and it had Jude Law's naked behind in it, which alone made me wish I'd seen it on the big screen.

Despite a strong case of lethargy, I made myself draw all the things I've promised people recently. It's a weird feeling to force myself to do something I know I'll enjoy...

WD went for a ride on his motorcycle, whom he has sorely missed this long cold winter. When he came home we ended up having a painful, necessary, and commendably civil discussion about moving, housing, etc. It was needed.

Now I have a passel of drawings, all ready to be backed and glued onto magnets, before me. Tomorrow I have work, a long day in an empty school. Let's see how much I can get done.
