Two XMFC Recs For The Day

It's Celebrate Colonialism Day/Day of the Potato/Marranos Dia de Libertad in the US today (oh, it occasionally gets called Columbus Day, too) and while I'm home from work I have two redheads sitting on me, but I have been planning to rec one of these stories and the other just came out and they're both SO GOOD.

Not A Miracle by dsudis, gen. Charles and Erik watch the Apollo moon landings. Tears are shed. Some will be by the reader.

A Day At The Beach by thistlerose, teen, Darwin/Havok. Alex and Armando spend a day at the beach. This story is a Happy Place but not at all in any uncomplicated or saccharine ways; it's true to life and realities. It's also beautiful and profoundly happy.
