The biggest problem I had while writing it/Why it almost never got posted: I had trouble thinking of how to convey the montage scenes. Not to mention the inevietable monogamy issues. The scene that hit the cutting room floor: I almost let Jim get Ensign Winslow, but the story really wouldn't've been nearly as funny if I had.
