It's a classic, heroic story. What kid doesn't want to save the world? The novels obviously provide no shortage of material to work with, and the pieces of the puzzle fit together nicely in the end.

Unfortunately, that's mostly because of lazy storytelling that carries over to the film, which is full of awkward voiceovers and dialogue that tells us things we should be seeing and learning for ourselves. To make matters worse, the rest of the film is taken up by confusing, unnecessary plot points and disjointed cinematography.



...Is it just me, or do these paragraphs not follow one another to the point of being actually incoherent?
