Things I'd Like To See More Of

We're all familiar with those infamous "things I never want to see in a fanfic story again" lists. Sure, we all have mental lists of things that drive us crazy: bits of fanon that don't work with our ideas about canon, overused words, improbable scenarios, bad characterizations, etc. But what about the opposite? What are the things you want to see more of? (Even if other people think it's overdone.)
Ones specific to Tolkienfic:
Ones in fanfic reading in general:

Ones specific to Tolkienfic:
- Hobbit OCs, fleshed out Family Tree characters, and hobbit society. I have a rant brewing somewhere about how not every OC or every OC who is the same gender as the author is a Mary Sue or Gary Stu. The happy flip side of this is that I love OCs who look like they could have stepped out of Tolkien's works (and strive to make mine do so). More people lived in the Shire than just the Fab Four, Fatty, and Bilbo, and I love seeing them!
- In the same vein as hobbit society, more tales about the Troubles, and life after. A splendid example of what I mean is "Orc Sign", a gen story which I found on West of the Moon, about an orc attack on the Shire. I should probably read more genfic. ;)
- Middle-Earth backstory. Middle-Earth has millenia of history. I love seeing bits of that fleshed out.
- Profound happiness. What I mean by this is:that people often think happy=frivolity and angst=importance, automatically. Sometimes, being happy can be the most profound thing one can do; doesn't that make sense for a character such as Aragorn, who has done so much to come to the realization of his desires? Or Sam, to whom Frodo leaves so very much?
- Female characters in general, because, well, Tolkien's universe as presented is a bit male-heavy.
Ones in fanfic reading in general:
- Unsurprisingly, bisexuality and polyamory and stories with both het and slash, and stories that are mostly-but-not-completely gen, the way life often is.
- Unusual pairings made plausible. I have such fun with those.
- Questioning assumptions. That's a superset of just about everything else, I think.
- Threesomes and foursomes. Because. ;D
