Star-berries

No, not strawberries.

I wonder how universal it is to see the stars as five pointed.

Every so often while reading about Ancient Egypt I come across a representation of a star pattern. Some examples:

The other day I saw it asserted that "Native Americans" [n.b. Which tribe, region, culture? Grr. ] "called Blueberries 'Starberries' because of their five point star-shaped calyx."

They do have a five point star, see:

IF this is true, then at least two societies (probably) independently came up with the idea of stars as five pointed. Which isn't universal but is widespread, to this day.

This is... just an illustrated thought. One of these days maybe I'll do some proper research.
