Tasty Fractal

And now for something completely different/ a return to the sort of thing I like to post about: fractal broccoli aka Romanesco. If you live in the Boston area, Atlas farms at the Copley Square Farmer's Market is selling this delicious, nutritious, beautiful, edible fractal.

-- that's not the one I bought today. But it's representative of how intricately lovely they all are. I was very amused to see people taking them out of the basket, photographing them, and putting them back. The farmer stand staff should have charged models fees.

I intend to turn the one I bought today into Cauliflower 'Tabbouleh', where the cauliflower is diced into bulguresque bits . I think I'll trim off the surface before I chop it up, though, to scatter little fractal nubs throughout my salad.

It's really more of a method than a recipe -- use the food processor to chop the cauliflower into couscous sized pieces, and swap it in for bulgur -- but here's one (though I don't know what the cucumber is doing there)
