Republicans on the Holiday Season, General and Specific

Do you remember how I wrote about needing a word that means 'that's not true but/and if it were there would be nothing wrong with that'? Here's another case when it's needed.
I hate to give this site the clicks, but their gleeful tone really needs to be seen. GOP STRIKES BACK IN WAR ON CHRISTMAS: ‘HAPPY HOLIDAYS IS WHAT LIBERALS SAY’. "The National Republican Congressional Committee is reportedly making a killing with sales of this snarky t-shirt, just in time for the Christmas season:" '"Happy Holidays" is what liberals say' on the front and "Merry Christmas" in elaborate font on the back. Because all Republicans are or should be Christians and all liberals hate Christmas, I guess? I mean, setting aside the slam against liberals for the moment, they're even insulting Republicans who don't celebrate Christmas with this, confident that no matter how much they insult such people they won't get fed up with knowing their fellow Republicans despise them for not being Christian. And apparently this shirt sold out, so quite a few Republicans are gleefully wearing their contempt for other winter holidays and those of us who celebrate those holidays.
The only people who ever damage my joy in Christmas are the assholes who keep deliberately hurting people in the name of 'defending' a holiday that needs no defense and isn't under attack. I wish it didn't bother me so much that so many of my fellow citizens hate people like me (and people like my roommates, especially the little ones), but it does.
From tragedy to farce: Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin (don't make me list his misdeeds here) asked supporters to donate their holiday money to his campaign rather than buying toys for their children (source). I can but snicker derisively. (I mean, I could write another essay, but really, it's not necessary and I'd rather laugh.)
