A useful link from several places on my F-list: has the Large Hadron Collider destroyed the Earth yet? Keep checking at regular intervals to be certain!
Incidentally, if the LHC does destroy the Earth, here is a description of how that will happen. Read into the comments for some estimates of how long the process might take.
micheinnz has posted so many other useful links about the LHC that instead of cribbing her list I'll just refer you to her here, here, and here. And
telynor linked to the Large Hadron Rap.

A Few Happinesses For Today
Sep. 10th, 2008 09:14 amIn brief, because I should get back to work already:
The way thet when I go sit in my room, the Joshlet comes and sits next to me.
Feasting on Waves, wherein Alton Brown shares his Caribbean sailing vacation with the rest of us, and which has already made me flail with nostalgic joy.
Fresh mozzarella. Even machine-made in a tub it's so good; I've only had the handmade stuff a few times, which is probably a good thing, as if I ate it every day that much happiness and cheese might kill me.
Riding in to work with Tigerlily. *wave*
