Mr. Avril painted Classical subjects in a style reminiscent of the 1700's. The effect is charming and, with the subject matter, it comes off the way good poems that use curse words do, as delightfully shocking. See if you can find the picture of Emperor Hadrian,

(I mean it about the NSFW nature of these, though, unless you work in one of a very few fields.)
