It's her stating "But the Voting Rights Act!" remarkers as one of the groups of people she's complaining about. In light of that, I'm not comfortable with who her "us" in "Give us one damn day to cheer" is excluding. It sounds very white of her to me.

BWEE. I just cited that line above. And... yeah. It felt very much like those of us who care about the VRA are excluded from her "we", and those of us who are both POC and LGBT, as if we don't exist.
