Let's go with 4. :)

[identity profile] irish-horse.livejournal.com 2013-05-03 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Love it!

So many numbers I'd like to give you... Hmm....

As a historian, I would have gone with #29, but I was too late. How about #16? Or #30?

How about... #11 - though I'm interested in all answers so consider mine a place to answer others you haven't been asked too :).

Hi, Milady!

I have to admit that whenever I hear a Jamaican accent I feel nostalgic in a good way, considering my heritage and all.

Human skin freshly warmed by cheerful exertion. ;)

Macaroni and cheese never fails to please!

[identity profile] browngirl.livejournal.com 2013-05-05 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
I had to think about this for a bit - there are many amazing people in history. One I greatly admire is General Toussaint L'ouverture.

[identity profile] browngirl.livejournal.com 2013-05-05 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
Boringly, I am fond of my initial N.

[identity profile] browngirl.livejournal.com 2013-05-05 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
I love the word 'star' and all its celestial meanings.

I answered #27 above and the answer is so blushworthy I can't repeat it. ;)

Merci. :-)

My favorite artist is [livejournal.com profile] kivitaskula *grin* I love springtime's renewal and fall's harvest comforts.

[identity profile] browngirl.livejournal.com 2013-05-05 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
You were in Star Trek fandom with me, you should be able to guess! *cheeky grin*

(Starlight originally by Muse. If I'm talking about modern commercial music anyway.)

[identity profile] browngirl.livejournal.com 2013-05-05 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
Huh. I buy my clothes from catalogues for the most part. My favorite is Roamans', I guess.

[identity profile] browngirl.livejournal.com 2013-05-05 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
Probably The Lord of the Rings, despite it all.

[identity profile] browngirl.livejournal.com 2013-05-05 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
I fell in love with Star Trek 2009, so hard.

Saveur is a delicious food-and-travel magazine.

So, no one asked me my favorite number (four) or fruit (quince). The problem with this meme is that I find myself less inclined to rant/explain at length about things I like. *laugh at myself*

[identity profile] lyonesse.livejournal.com 2013-05-05 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
i like N too, particularly its zigzaggy written form :)

*laugh* I rather like 'em, too.

Interesting. I would have guessed Robin McKinley or Octavia Butler or somebody like that. :-)

I don't know if it's my favorite book, but the book that saved my life is Heinlein's Stranger in a Strange Land. I read it when I was 12 (because that's the age at which children could access the adult section of the library, and I'd finished all the Heinlein juveniles), and there were parts of it that I didn't quite understand at 12. When Jubal tells Dorcas that she smells like a cathouse and Mike is puzzled, because he's seen cats, and Dorcas smells nothing like them, I was equally puzzled. :-)

My parents are very conventional and very authoritarian people, and I knew there was something wrong with the picture of the world that they were presenting to me, but I didn't have enough life experience to be able to replace their picture with something else. Jubal and Mike, between them, shattered that picture into a million fragments, and I am grateful.

I've seen Saveur in stores and thought about picking one up since I knew you've mentioned it before. I did have a strong feeling that quince would be your answer to fruit. :)

[identity profile] browngirl.livejournal.com 2013-05-19 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Very belatedly but no less heartfeltly, thank you for telling me this. I know what you mean about books that saved and changed your life.

[identity profile] chienne-folle.livejournal.com 2013-05-19 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Some day when you feel like it (and when you have the time!), I'd love to hear about yours.
