Yesterday's Fangirlventure

So, after cooking and signmaking and putting on the T-shirt labeled "Warning: I slash everything" that WD kindly and generously bought for me (which garnered many compliments), I set off for yesterday's viweing of Star Trek at the Hatch Shell.

This will be far briefer than it deserves, but I want to make sure it gets written at all. My butt is now sore from sitting on the hard ground, but it was totally worth it.

I reached [livejournal.com profile] blcwriter, who packed extensively and sensibly, and we headed out to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] ennyousai of the beautiful tattoos. Soon we were joined by, in no accurate order: [livejournal.com profile] veritykindle, [livejournal.com profile] ninhursag, [livejournal.com profile] daughterofnut, [livejournal.com profile] lymanalpha, [livejournal.com profile] amazonziti, [livejournal.com profile] merisunshine36, [livejournal.com profile] castofone, [livejournal.com profile] pearlstar117, [livejournal.com profile] lindmere, [livejournal.com profile] roflolmaomg, and [livejournal.com profile] withthepilot and her friend. Our meetup was clearly ordained, considering te Parking Space Awesomeness that befel, and all the wonderful coincidences that got us all there.

(My sign wasn't terribly necessary in the end, but it was amusing to bring with me on the T and watch people curiously reading it.)

ALSO, I met an adorable baby named Tyler, 7 months old, whose kind and generous parents let me hold him (I must look trustworthy, or at least slow-moving) and told me if he'd been a girl they'd've named her a name starting with the same first syllable as mine.

AND MOST AWESOMELY, [livejournal.com profile] ladysprite spotted the fangirl gatherination I'd mentioned and came over to hug me and say hi!

Alas, we got rained out of the actual movie. So BLC fit as many of us as possible into her car and we watched The Movie at her place (and everyone put up with my squeaking).

As Lindmere said, it was odd and neat not to have to check one's email since many of the people one would be emailing with were there and all.

Today: Filker Barbecue and Fangirl Potluck! *happy dances*

Alas, I forgot all about the movie, or I might have joined you. I was near the hatch shell too, earlier in the evening, having just gone sailing at CBI. (Went again this morning, too!)

That sounds amazing! I'm so jealous of everybody.

"I Slash Everything" begs for a filk of "I Crush Everything."

Meanwhile, out here, we have Trek in the Park, performed live.
