Science! And Donating One's Body Thereto

Methods? Legalities? Stories? Pros? Cons?

I was idly chatting about living wills, etc, with TL this morning, and reflected that my organs might not be of that much use for donation (I have some metabolic issues) so perhaps I could arrange to donate my body to science when I die. So I thought I'd post about it and see if anyone has any tales to tell me.
